How to Verify a Dental Clinic in Turkey Before You Book Flights
Step-by-step HealthTürkiye search, clinic and intermediary certificates, implant brand confirmation, surgeon credentials and GDC-informed questions.
OrbisMed Travel is a licensed health tourism intermediary (AK-1013), not a healthcare facility. Clinical care is delivered by contracted partner clinics. Individual results vary.
Verification should happen before you pay a large deposit or book non-refundable flights. This checklist works for any Turkey provider — including OrbisMed partner clinics.
HealthTürkiye portal search
- Visit HealthTürkiye certified providers
- Search by clinic name or city (Antalya)
- Confirm the facility appears as an authorised health tourism provider
If the portal is slow or unavailable, request certificate copies and match registration numbers manually. Do not skip verification because a website looks polished.
Clinic International Health Tourism Authorization
The treating clinic should hold a Ministry of Health International Health Tourism Authorization Certificate for its facility. Ask for:
- Certificate number
- Legal clinic name matching your contract
- Expiry or validity status
Compare with listings on HealthTürkiye where possible.
Intermediary certificate if using an agency
If you book through an agency, it should hold USHAŞ intermediary authorization — for OrbisMed, AK-1013. View ours on the certificate page and read AK-1013 explained.
Agencies without intermediary authorization may still broker care — that is a regulatory and accountability gap for you to weigh.
Implant brand confirmation in writing
Demand brand, model and approximate quantity before travel. Vague “Swiss/German quality” language is insufficient. See Straumann traceability and our blog post.
Surgeon credentials
Ask for the named treating surgeon and their role (for example oral and maxillofacial surgeon or implantologist). Turkish dentists register with the Turkish Dental Association (TDB) — request a verifiable name, not only a marketing face.
OrbisMed includes surgeon and clinic names in written plans before travel.
Independent reviews — what to trust
- Google Reviews on a stable profile — read critical reviews too
- Dated testimonials with consent — not only Instagram highlights
- Red flags: only 5-star reviews, sudden review spikes, reviews about a different treatment type
OrbisMed links to our Google profile from testimonials — intermediary context, not a clinical outcome guarantee.
Questions from the GDC leaflet
The GDC going abroad PDF suggests asking:
- What happens if something goes wrong abroad and at home?
- Who is clinically responsible?
- What records will you receive?
- Have you discussed plans with your UK dentist?
Add implant-specific questions from our inclusions checklist.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is Instagram verification enough?
No. Certificates and written plans matter more than reels.
What if the clinic refuses CBCT?
Serious red flag for implant surgery.
Can I verify in English?
HealthTürkiye offers English navigation; coordinator support can help interpret certificates.
Does verification guarantee success?
No — but skipping verification removes a basic safety filter.
